Our BCO Award

We are delighted and proud to announce that our contribution to the recent refurbishment of the iconic Marston’s House in Wolverhampton has been recognised by the British Council for Offices (BCO).

The BCO look to define excellence in office space and Marston’s House was chosen as the winner for the Midlands and Central England as the Outstanding Corporate Workspace. We now go forward to the National Finals in October.

Having worked with Marston’s for many years developing their pubs and restaurants, we were commissioned to design new heating cooling and ventilating systems and full new interior and exterior lighting designs. Efficiency and sustainability had to be at the heart of our design.

The job was particularly challenging as over the years all sorts of air conditioning equipment had been added on a sort of ‘mix and match’ basis. This meant that it didn’t really meet the needs of the occupants and was very expensive to run, so we successfully incorporated new systems into the very limited space available.

The £10m project has been a huge success for Marston’s and their staff. The BCO judges described Marston’s House as a workplace that now “exudes pride and encourages creativity, innovation and a new modern way of working”.

“Marston’s House sets a standard of quality for future projects around the UK”
